Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on a beautiful but cold day. There could be some movement on the boat out on Faxabay but we do offer seasickness tablets free of charge at the ticket office if you are sensitive to motion sickness. All our boats have inside and outside areas and to make the tour even more comfortable we provide warm overalls

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Another beautiful day in Reykjavik, with clear, blue skies. The low lying sun provided a golden hue to the perfectly flat ocean which meant for great spotting conditions. We were only sailing 30 minutes along the coast before we encountered our first cetaean species, a pod of 5-8 white beaked dolphins which included mothers with their calves, swimming in unison in infant position. The dolphins were great to watch as they came extremely close on occasion to within 10metres of the ship. Another pod were seen in the distance performing large leaps, generating a tremendous amount of splash on the ocean surface. The calves also demonstrated their acrobatic abilities, gracefully leaving the water showing off their small size to the guests. We stayed with the dolpins for some time as they seemed at ease with our presence until we recieved word that a humpback whale was nearby. The whales blow was seen and we made our way towards its location. The humpback gave our passengers a great first view as the blow rose and the fluke soon followed. The whale stole the show however, when it surfaced within 20metres and performed a full series of breaths before going down for a deep dive. A great day had by all on board
