Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: the sea conditions were still pretty good but the swells from west were getting a bit bigger that moved the boat more up and down then in the morning tour. we were very optimistic for the tour because it had been relatively easy to spot animals in the morning tour but the bay seemed to have changed a lot. There were not as many birds seen and the only cetaceans we found on the tour were elusive harbour porpoises that popped up few times over the tour. Because we were not able to find any bigger cetaceans we gave all of our passengers complimentary tickets so they can come with us on another tour sometime within the next two years.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: the sea conditions were up to its best today, the surface was nearly all flat, only long swells coming from west that rocked the boat gently. The cloudy sky even made the sea surface brighter and that always makes it easier for us to spot the dark bodies of the cetaceans. we had only been sailing for about 40 minutes when we spotted the first minke whale of the tour. We were able to get a quite good look at it because it was spending a long time in the same area. After a while the whale started to be more elusive so we decided to head further out on the bay. There seemed to be a lot of harbour porpoises in the bay today, we were able to spot these small and cute animals around us for a big part of the tour. We also saw other minke whales on the tour, about 3-4 but they were much more elusive and very hard to follow. In the end of the tour we got news from another whale watching boat that they had seen a pod of 4 white beaked dolphins. we followed the dolphins for about ten minutes before we had to sail back to harbor.
