Report from Eldey: Second whale watching tour this year, weather and sea conditions was good. Slight rain here and there but generally we kept dry and warm especially when wearing our super comfy red overalls. Its always very beautiful to see the dark rain clouds in the distance but dry and blue skies over head. We searched long and wide and some very enthusiastic passengers spotted some harbour porpoises. We slowed down and could see a small pod of about 2-3 individuals but they soon disappeared and we went searching for larger mammals. We found another small pod of about 2 harbour porpoises later on but no larger cetaceans. We enjoyed our trip untheless and offered all our passengers complimentary tickets to come again at their convenience.

Birds seen today include; gulls, common guillemots, razorbills, eider ducks, cormorants, shags, purple sandpipers, black-headed gulls, northern gannets, northern fulmars.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There could be some movement out on the bay today after the bad weather that we have been having for the past days, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
