Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 & 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: We woke up this morning with everything covered in snow, which makes everything beautiful but there was lots to clear off the boat for our passengers. The weather could not have been more beautiful little to no wind and a strong sun. There was some rolling swell in the bay but no waves. We were also lucky with the wildlife, just 30minutes into the tour a large scattered pod of 15-30 white-beaked dolphins were alerting us of their presence with high leaps out of the water and large splashes when hitting the surface again. They were great and so many young individuals around learning how to chase and catch their breakfast. After staying with the dolphins for about 30mins we searched further offshore and found some very chilled out harbour porpoises, 4-5 individuals surfacing slowly allowing us to get a few photographs which can be very difficult to get with this species. A beautiful morning to be on the water.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: The weather this afternoon was very pleasant with sunshine and low wind, but the swell of the sea made the conditions less ideal for those who are sensitive to seasickness. Nonetheless, the visibility was excellent and it was very impressive to see the beautiful snow-covered mountains that had resulted from yesterday's snowfall. Unfortunately though, we did not see any cetaceans on our tour except for one harbour porpoise that surfaced a single time right next to our boat. As we want to give our passengers the chance to see the marine mammals of Faxafloi, we gave everyone complimentary tickets and hope to see you all on a future tour.
