Tour at 17:00
Sea conditions were still the same but the Minke Whales were great. Saw at least 4-7 individuals. They were surfing the waves and surfacing many times and on occasion 20-30 meters from us. Great tour.
Tour at 13:00 The sea conditions was a little rougher on this tour but it was really nice on the way back sailing with the wind. The Minke Whales were really difficult surfacing only once or twice far from the boat and then not showing up again. The Harbour Porpoises where better as they surfaced many times. Not the best of tours.
Tour at 09:00 Tour was really nice. It did threaten rain but it stayed away for most the tour. We started at Akurey (Puffin Island) and saw so many Puffins. It was great to see them all returning to the island since the last two weeks the islands have been looking bare. We then headed out offshore and it took us about 40 minutes to get to the area where the whale were. In total we must of see at least 5-10 Minke Whales surfacing less than 100 meters from us and on a couple of occasions only 20-30 meters. Great Minke Whale Tour.
Birds seen on this tour; Gannets, Fulmars, Arctic Terns, Kittiwakes, Gulls, Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills and an Arctic Skua. On the Island we saw also Eider Ducks, Geese and Oystercatchers.
