Tour at 13:00

Report from Elding: We sailed out from Hafnfjörður harbour today to make the tour more comfortable for our passengers as the land provided more shelter and we have have generally good sightings for this area. As we left the harbour we got to see many species of seabird as listed below, we headed closer to land and came across many Harbour Porpoises, two pods at least of maybe 5-8 individuals, always a bit difficult to tell exactly how many there are as they never surface at the same time and they more relatively fast. The rest of thecetaceans seemed to be on christmas vacation as they were not seen. It was however a stunning sunset as we sailed back to the harbour.

Seabirds seen on todays tour included, Red breasted Mergansers, Eider Ducks, Long tailed Duck, Whooper Swan, Gloucous Gull, Lesser Black Backed Gull, Kittiwakes, Gannets, Razorbill, Shags and Cormorants.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Elding Team.
