Report from Eldey: The afternoon started calm and warm with a beautiful sun shinning between the clouds. The ride was easy out and we enjoyed our wonderfull bay while searching for the whales and dolphins. Sea birds were flying around and a strng bright rainbow gave our passengers something to take photos of. The tour went on and the clouds started to come in with some strong winds from the north east showing us how fast the weather can change here in Iceland. No luck on the way back either but we had a nice tour with smoth sailing and since we did not find any whales or dolphin we offered our passengers a complementary ticket to come again with us within two years.

✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: As days are getting shorter now it was still a little dark as we left the main harbour of Reykjvaik, within 20 minutes the morning lit and we could enjoy the snow covered mountains around us. Easterly winds meant we had a good smooth ride offshore but colder windier conditions on the way back. The seas were calm though and that is something to really appricate lately. Unfortunatly we were unlucky this morning with the whales and dolphins but we had a nice abundance of seabirds, gloucous gulls mainly. The landscape was beautiful and the sailing was also nice. We offered our passengers complimentary tickets to come again anytime in the next two years. We hope to see you again.

Birds seen on todays tours include: black guillemots, common guillemots, eider ducks, great cormornats, northern gannets, gloucous gulls, black-backed gulls, black-headed gulls.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There could always be some movement out on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
