Status Tour 1pm: CANCELLED

Unfortunately we have to cancel our Whale Watching tour at 1 pm due to the wind getting stronger. If you have any questions please contact our ticket office at elding@elding.is or +3545195000

Status Tour 9am: RUNNING

We are running for the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. The wind is picking up so there will be movement on the boat due to swells out on the Faxa Bay

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Due to the thick cloud cover, darkness remained until late in our tour. Soon after departure it also began to rain, so visibility was not our ally today ! Were we intimidated by those conditions ? Of course not ! Elding's crew is exclusively composed of brave sailors, and the passengers that dared step out in the bay despite the rain were cut from the same cloth. Unimpressed, we ventured in high spirit, willing to earn the wonders of the sea with will power, patience and curiosity. Our ferry being stable, and thanks to the weak wind, the excursion went smoothly and temperatures even seemed to have increased compared to yesterday. The ride, even if wet, was comfortable. But as whale watching can sometime be cruel, our good will and attentive searching out in the bay didn't bear fruits, and we did not encounter any cetaceans. It's always a heavy blow, but we can't let this bring us down ! We gave complimentary tickets to our guests, and wish them better luck on their next wildlife adventure.
