Report from Hafsúlan: The forecast had said modest 6-8 SW wind but instead we found ourselves in western wind, which comes out from the open sea and is hence cold and often strong. The swell was some but our experienced captain Gulli made sure to sail the boat very carefully, as is indeed our top responsibility, to ensure passenger safety, security, and comfort. After a while heading against the western wind, we turned the boat around and turned towards the north, by doing so the trip became much more gentle. We kept looking and spotting but nothing turned up, until some passengers said they had seen something. Yesterday we had had a minke whale in that location so it seemed likely, but we did not see any more of what may have been there. We continued on towards land and again thought we might have seen some dorsal fins (most likely white-beaked dolphins) and what made it more likely was that the fishfinder showed a bit of fish, but whatever was there was not possible to locate due to the swell. By that time we had to go back to Reykjavik. This had been a difficult tour and without sightings so we gave every passenger a complimentary return ticket so that they can come back to us free of charge within the next two years.
