Tour at 1300
Again we started into the beautiful Faxaflói Bay in brilliant weather. The afternoon even the swell was less than in the morning and it did not take us a very long time to find the first Harbor Porpoises. To find the first Minke Whale of the afternoon tour we had to search a little bit longer, but then it was amazing!!! There were at least three maybe even more in the same area around us. And they came so close to the boat, unbelievable. We could once see the whole body under the surface not more than 5 meters away! Several times a part of a head was visible and they seemed to be circling around our boat. What a day in the marine life again with unbelievable good spring weather and really good whales.
Tour at 0900
In the morning we had a bit of swell in our bay, but the weather was great. We had to search for quite a time until we found some Harbor Porpoises. As usually they were shy and challenging to spot but it is always great to see those cute small mammals. Searching for a bit longer we were so happy to find a Minke Whale in the end of the tour. It was wonderful to stay with it for a while as it came really close and surfaced many times!!!! A great morning, even it was hard to leave but what is better than a happy end!!!!
