Tours at 13, 14, 17 and 19 : CANCELLED

Tour at 10:00

Report from Elding: We sailed out from Reykjavik, in a bit of wind. During the tour the wind picked up, and we ended up having a real viking experience in Faxafloi Bay. The conditions were challenging making it quite hard to spot cetaceans, but we managed to spot some white beaked dolphins briefly. However the dolphins were not in the mood to interact today, and they continued their travel. So did we, heading back to harbor. We did not see enough wildlife on this tour, so we off course provided complimentary tickets for everybody, so they can try a trip with us again. Better luck next time!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: It was a windy overcast morning as we left the harbour, but still good conditions to have an icelandic experience out in the bay. We sailed with the wind on our back towards back as suddenly some passengers spotted a minke whale. We immediately turned around but unfortunately this whale was elusive and we did not spot it anymore. So we went further out but unfortunately did not find any more cetaceans, beside some really elusive harbour porpoises popping up once in a while. On our way back out of nowhere, a while just surfaced quite close to us, all went so fast and it disappeared into nowhere. As this are not sightings we normally have and want our guests to get the full whale watching experience, we offered them complimentary tickets, to come back one more time!

Birds seen on today's tours include: northern fulmar, northern gannet, atlantic puffin, black-legged kittiwake, common guillemot

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today at 9 and 10 am. The wind is supposed to pick up in the afternoon, and we will have to wait to see how it turns out for the afternoon tours. We are expecting it to be a bit rough out on the bay today, and we do have complimentary sea sickness tablets for those who wish.
