Report from Elding: The tour was accompanied by a lot of sunshine, but winds were very strong again today. However, our passengers happily stayed outside and enjoyed this Icelandic adventure. We had a look around a more sheltered area in Kollafjörður before following the coastline in the direction of Akranes. The landscape was just beautiful and we saw a lot of different seabirds during the tour. Further out in the bay the sea was more rough, but our experienced captain managed to stir the boat safely through the waves. We did our best to spot some cetaceans during the tour, but it just wasn't meant to be today. Therefore, we gave our passengers complimentary tickets, so they can try their luck again on another whale watching adventure for free.

Report from Eldey: Winds just seem to have unstoppable energy these days, as they picked up throughout the tour. As the last days, we have had wonderful clear skies and sunshine, just the winds and waves not behaving in our favour. Despite, we braved it and went on this mornings tour, searching first our beloved and very scenic area around Kollafjöður and then sailing towards Akraness and finally crossing the bay to go towards the lighthouse Grotta. Birdlife seemed to be hiding from the wind gusts today and sadly we only spotted one white-beaked dolphin jump through the waves twice during this tour. Naturally, this is not what we imagine a tour to be like and everyone was offered a complimentary ticket for a return trip.

Birds seen today: common guillemot, northern fulmar, lesser black-backed gull, common gull, northern gannet, atlantic puffin, eider duck, cormorant, arctic tern, arctic skua.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today at 9:00. The wind is very strong today so we are expecting the seas to be quite rough, so if you are prone to seasickness we have some seasickness tablets free of charge at our ticket office. The sun is shining, but make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land.
