Report from Eldey: The day just got better and better, sun was strong, sea was calm and the bay was plentiful. We left the harbour and headed straight to the area of the humpback whale from the morning tour, even though it had travelled a little south we found it after an hours sailing and watched it feed. It was even more incredible to have feeding just meters from our boat giving the passengers at our bow a shock. Just absolutely amazing. The humpback surfaced close and around teh vessel many times and we watching in awe. It was very hard to leave the area but we were hoping to show our passengers more of what the bay had to offer and not good to disturb the whale too long, We travelled north east and after 30 minutes found a minke whale, whoo hoo. A little far from the boat at first but this minke too then started to surface feed and was doing so right up to our vessel. We just couldn´t get enough of the wonders of Faxaflói Bay today! Amazing.

Report from Eldey: Ice on the water surface and a few clouds in the sky, but extremely calm wind and seas were a very good combination for us this morning. We had such a great tour, beginning with an encounter with a very playful group of 7-8 white-beaked dolphins. One of them was even a regular named Puzzle, whom we have seen every year since 2012! They jumped, came bow-riding and swam right underneath the water surface for a very long time. We could have stayed longer but as it was still early we headed further out, past the city of Akraness, passing 2 harbour porpoises and another 2 dolphins on the way, to where a blow had been spotted. And we know a blow means a whale! In our case a fantastic humpback whale that was surface feeding over and over, rolling on it's side, showing both it's expanded throat and parts of it's fluke as it did so. We could watch it moving through the water because it was so close to the surface. It came so close and didn't seem to notice us at all. Thank you mother nature for these absolutely memorable 3 hours.
