Status: RUNNING FROM ANOTHER HARBOUR

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: The afternoon trip left from Keflavi too. We had a nice weather with the sun shining in the sky, followed by heavy snowfall, wind howling and sun again: another good example of Icelandic weather changing every five minutes. Despite the meteorological carrousel, we enjoyed very nice views from Reykjaness witnessing the magnificence of its basaltic formation and incredible cliffs. Birdlife was pretty active and we had fulmars and kittiwake following most part of the trip. But the moment that took our hearts apart was when we spotted a humpback whale! It was an incredible encounter with this huge mammal. It was obviously feeding as it was changing direction often and surfacing with a high frequency, for the joy of our passengers. After a while enjoying the humpie-show, we sailed back to Keflavik with a great happiness.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Chilly but overall beautiful morning out of Keflavik today! Though the temperatures were challenging, we set sail with a splendid sunrise piercing through the clouds behind us. We started by going West until we turned and circled around to have the waves on our back. The cruise was comfortable but sadly fruitless, as no cetaceans showed up on our tour. Thus we issued complimentary tickets, hopefully next time will be the right one!

Birds seen during our tour: Eider duck, Great Cormorant, European shag, common guillemot, black-legged kittiwake, great black backed gull, iceland gull, glaucous gull, herring gull.

We will be sailing out from KEFLAVÍK today at 9:00 and 13:00 due to unfavourable conditions out of Reykjavík. A bus will be ready and waiting for passengers here in the Old Harbour and drive off to Keflavík at the scheduled departure time. After the tour we will return to Reykjavík by bus again, or the boat will sail to Reykjavík. This will result in a longer tour, or between 4-5 hrs. and could impact COMBO tours. Guests that are unable to join the tour because of it's length should contact their travel planner immediately to arrange for a different activity or check for other options provided by them.
