Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: We certainly do love these calm sailing conditions at the moment and were enjoying them even more this afternoon since it stayed dry completely throughout the trip. From our tour this morning we knew that it was considerably calm in the bay today so we decided to sail very far out in search for cetaceans. It took us over 2 hours of sailing without seeing nothing before we spotted a pod of 3-4 white-beaked dolphins. We were super happy to see them and could get really good views because they surfaced really slowly multiple times close to the boat. Likely the dolphins were resting and so we truly enjoyed some calm quality time with them before we embarked on our long ride back towards the old harbour of Reykjavik. A good afternoon well spent out at sea.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: In great sea and spotting conditions we sailed out this morning looking for whales and dolphins. It was a nice day to be out at sea, it was snowing a bit every now and then and very cloudy and foggy in the beginning but later the sky cleared up and let some sunshine through. We covered a large part of the bay in search for cetaceans and also another whale watching boat joined us. However, we did not see a single sign of cetaceans on the tour. However, to give everyone on board the chance to come on another tour, we offered all our passengers a complimentary tickets. These tickets are valid for two years for any whale watching tour with us from Reykjavik or Akureyri in the North of Iceland.

Bird species seen on today's tours include: northern gannets, northern fulmars, cormorants, Iceland gulls, glaucous gulls, lesser black-backed gulls, and eider ducks.

Status: RUNNING

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik today. There could be some movement on the boat out in Faxabay and with -1°C it might be cold too but we have heated indoor areas on board and we also have overalls to keep you warm out on deck. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our tour!
