Report from Eldey: Atmosphere on the bay got a tad more christmassy, with snow slowly falling from the sky. We should have read the signs, with Christmas time come the presents. And how spoiled we were! Shortly after departure, we joined another whale watching boat in an area where 2 humpback whales were traveling together! They were moving slowly, straightforward, and in a relaxed fashion. They were regularly diving during long minutes, so we had to be patient, but eventually we got to see the both of them raising the tail stock out of the water. Which is fortunate, because it allowed us to recognize two of our friends: Ragnar, who we encountered for the first time in March 2016, and Shaniqua, who we met first in June 2016 then in Akureyri during summer 2017! It's amazing to meet two known individuals together, what a treat! After following them for a while, we tried our luck further West and quickly sighted a pod of 4-5 elusive white-beaked dolphins before heading home.

Report from Eldey: It wis frozen fingers that this diary entry was written. The scenery of our morning tour was gorgeous, we had a sunrise in the back of the boat setting the clouds on fire, and at the same time we had the moon up the sky in front of us. If not for a soft but long and constant swell, the sea was relatively calm. The main challenge today were mainly the temperatures! Oscillating between null and negative temperatures, it was sure revigorating but challenging to stay outside. Fortunately passengers were up to the challenge today, and the most alert spotted a pod of 3-5 white-beaked dolphins! They swam close to our vessel for a couple of minutes before swimming away and slowly disappearing. The encounter was short, but nice. Sadly nothing more was spotted on this tour, so we decided to issue complimentary tickets, wishing better sightings for our guests.
