Report from Eldey and Hafsúlan: As this morning, it was still a bit swelly out in the bay but apart from that still great conditions and a nice day to be out on the boat. Since many people decided to join us on this tour, we went out with two boat and, hence, were able to cover an even larger area of the bay. After about an hour Hafsúlan spotted a pod of about 6-8 white-beaked dolphins and Eldey soon approached to also get a look at these animals. They surfaced a few times quite close to us but then came up behind as and headed away. It was difficult to keep track of these dolphins, and everyone kept an eye out to find them again. It was Eldey that found the pod again and we could spent a couple of more minutes with them. However, they obviously didn't enjoy our company and disappeared again. We tried to find them again but soon moved on and headed further out to look for other cetaceans. The boats headed into different directions but no more cetaceans were found on this tour, so complimentary tickets were given out on both boats. These tickets are valid for two years from now for any other whale watching tour with us!

Report from Eldey: This was a beautiful morning, the sun was still low so it was rather cold. The sea conditions were almost perfect for spotting cetaceans, no breaking waves but there were still long under swell since the storm two days ago that rocked our boat smoothly up and down. It took us a long time to find any life out on the bay. It was not until we were really far put on the bay that we noticed more birdlife. In these areas we spotted harbour porpoises three times, each of these three pods had around 3-5 individuals. It was difficult to get a good look at them so we didnt spend a long time following them. It was not until we were already on our way back to land after 2,5 hours of searching that we got a good sighting. those were 8 white beaked dolphins! We followed them for a while when they seemed to be feeding, then they slowed down and started to surface slowly in this area. We didnt have much time but luckily for us they seemed to be also on their way to Reykjavík so we enjoyed them for some time on our way back to land.
