Tour at 13:00

Report form Hafsúlan: On our second tour we sailed straight to the area where we had been this morning. We sailed towards the previously visited area and on our way we made a few stops because we spotted dolphins at least three times on our journey. Some of the White beaked dolphins were a bit shy but there was one pod that swam towards us and played around the boat for a while. When the dolphins got tired of playing we continued our sailing. When we got to this morning's spot we saw that the feeding frenzy had finished. Even so, there was still a Humpback whale lurking around. Even though the frenzy had finished the whale may have been feeding on it's own, since we did notice some fish on the boat's fish finder. We watched the whale surface many times right by the boat and it raised it's fluke every time it took a deep dive. After saying goodbye to the friendly humpback whale we sailed back to Reykjavík after an eventfull day.

Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: This morning's tour was every thing we could have asked for. We sailed out in water smooth as silk. After a short sailing we saw a pod of Harbour Porpoises and sailed towards them. They didn't seem to mind us watching them and continued feeding in front of the boat. After a short observation we decided to leave the porpoises to it and sailed further for some more adventures. We didn't see much for a while. We sailed to the west along the Reykjanes peninsula and then turned a little further off shore. There were some fishing boats in the area and before we knew it we saw a blow between two small boats. We went closer and sailed into a feeding frenzy of two Humpback whales, dozens of White beaked dolphins and a huge flock of birds. The dolphins swam and jumped a round and the humpbacks performed almost all the tricks int he book. They rolled around, they did spyhops multiple times and flapped their flippers and flukes. The party wasn't over when we left, but we had to get back to the harbour so we sailed back to Reykjavík after spending a good amount of time with the animals. When we sailed away the humpback whales literally waived us goodby. The pictures really say more than a thousand words. What an amazing tour.
