Report from Eldey: It was a lovely fresh day on sailing out into the bay, it was rather chilly which meant we could use our lovely warm overalls to warm up a bit. After only a very short 20 minutes we found our first species of the day. An individual white-beaked dolphin popped up from under the small waves. This individual we watched for sometime, before it was joined by 7 other individuals. This pod stuck around for a long time and they surfaced all around the boat coming very close at times. This pod was rather spread out and were surfacing anywhere from 10-200 meters away. After getting a wonderful look at this pod it was decided to move further out into the bay to see if we could find some other animals. After a short search more white-beaked dolphins were found, this pod was much larger consisting of about 12 individuals which were surfacing very regularly and came up very close on many occasions which was lovely to see. They even had 3 very small calves with them clinging very closely to their mothers sides. What an Amazing day to be out in the bay!
