Tour at 13:00

The wind had picked up a bit more when we headed out again this afternoon. We sailed to the area where we spotted the whales earlier this morning, but there was no sign of them, and no bird’s either. So we headed further out. We spent a long time searching but had no luck finding the whales this afternoon. So we offered out passenger some complimentary tickets.

It was quite windy when we headed out to Faxaflóa this morning. There were not many puffins around Akurey so we headed further out to find the whales. And it didn't take us a long time to find them. Soon we spotted some blows from minke whales and in one area we spotted many of them. Some of them surfaced very close to our bout, some further away. One pod of harbour porpoises crossed our path and surfaced a few times before disappearing. There were also many birds in the area, feeding, diving gannets, puffins, guillemots, fulmars and kittiwakes.

Birds seen on tours: Puffins, gulls, fulmars, kittiwakes, gannets, guillemots.
