Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed from the old harbour in Reykjavik in very little wind and calm seas. Very good conditions for whale watching. Early on in the tour we came upon a pod of around 5-7 White-Beaked Dolphins. We saw them a few times, travelling slowly along the surface and surfacing a few times close to the boat. A good encounter but a brief one as well and we soon headed further out to try and find other cetaceans. Conditions for whale watching were very good and we also spotted a large flock of birds indicating possible cetacean activity. Unfourtunately it seems that there were few ceteceans in the bay today but we hope for better luck next time. We then sailed back to Reykjavik in the beautiful evening sunset.

Birds seen on today's tour: Glaucous gulls, Iceland Gulls, Kittiwakes, Shags, Gannets, Razorbills, Eider Ducks.
