Tour at 13:00

Report from the boat Hafúlan (Tour from Reykjavik): We sailed out to Faxaflói bay in a very nice weather and with a great visibility. Very soon we spotted a group of white beaked dolphins they had at least 3 calves with them so we took a look at them for a very short time and than we decided to leave them alone so we would not bother them with their calves. We sailed on and after a while we spotted another group of white beaked dolphins, they were very nice and surfaced many times really close to the boat. Again we headed on and searched for a long time until we spotted another group of white beaked dolphins and than a minke whale and also harbour porpoises! All at the same time! Just beautiful and the weather was just amazing. We turned off the engines and watched the minke whale for a while surfacing very close to the boat. Great ending of this tour.

Report from the boat Elding (Tour from Grindavík): The weather was perfect when we headed out from Grindavík this afternoon. Soon we spotted a nice group of white-beaked dolphins. They came very close to our boat even though they were very busy feeding. Further out we found second group of white-beaked dolphins and many baby dolphins so it was very difficult to get close to them. We left them in peace and sailed further out. And there we saw many blows in the distance. We found a big blue whale, a fin whale and a humpback whale all in the same area. But we only got close to the blue whale and we followed it for a quite some time. It came very close, 10-20 meters away from the boat so we could hear the strong breathing sound and have a good look at the huge body. Further out we spotted many big blows so the must been many big whales in the area. Magnificent tour this afternoon in the beautiful weather.
