Report from Eldey: We left the harbour small in numbers but big in heart into another Nordic adventure. We faced rough weather conditions in our journeys. Big raindrops eventually caught up to us and we head quite the extreme whale watching going on for us. The minke whale was around us and despite the "horizontal" rain we managed to see it at a distance of 30 meters several times. We also saw the mighty blow from the heavy weight animal. It was a cold and wet expedition, but with the observations of the whale and the picturesque scenery around us it left warmth in our hearts.

Report from Eldey: Lady luck decided to linger around with us for some more time! Relatively warm weather, weak wind, flat sea, some sunshine and rainbows, and cetaceans galore! It started with a minke whale that surfaced close to us, but since it didn't appear to be in a playful mood, we decided to leave it alone and moved further offshore. We pulled the right move as we ended up being surrounded by at least 7 more whales! We sat back, enjoyed the show for as long as we deemed it was necessary, and once we got our fill we began to stroll around again. In the process, we found about 10 white-beaked dolphins! A singe individual jumping out of the water like it had ants in the pants led us to the area where the pod was traveling. After some close-up views, we made our way back toward a rainy Reykjavik, but our happy passengers did not seem to mind too much.

Report from Eldey: A busy day today with 150 passengers but on our big spacious vessel Eldey this was no problem, 3 warm saloons and a big outside veiwing deck everyone could see the wonders Faxafloi´s marine wildlife could offer us. Minke whales were the stars of the show today with at least 6-8 individuals popping up here and there and busy feeding. We even recognised an individual we know very well called Resight Guy, a whale we have known since 2008. A pod of 5-7 white-beaked dolphins were also busy feeding but took a short break to come and play with the boat and do a little bow riding before getting back to business. It was a beautiful sunny day today with calm seas and lots of life, 50+ northern gannets plunging into the ocean around us and a small pod of harbour porpoises too, at least 3-5 splashing away in the distance. WHAT A GREAT MORNING TOUR!
