Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out once again from Grindavík as the peninsula shielded us from the north easterly winds making the tour that much smoother. We sailed along the coast and admired the stunning multicoloured mountains and cliffs made such because of all the minerals in the rock. We saw a couple of splashes which were most likely Harbour Porpoises (3-4 or them) but they were moving so fast that the splashes was all that you could see. We then headed offshore and saw many Gannets and seagulls in one area obviously feeding under these we also saw small splashes, dolphins probably but once we got closer the birds seemed to have dispersed and we couldn´t find the dolphins. Our hopes were dropping somewhat but then suddenly BLOW!! Over 10 meters high. That was from something big..could it be a blue whale, our hearts were racing, as we got closer our wishes came true A BLUE WHALE! The worlds largest animal right at our fingertips. There was even one moment where we were waiting for a while for the blue whale to surface and it almost blew off our hats and scared us half to death as it surfaced just meters from the boat. It never gets boring to see these magnificient majestic leviathans. Incredible tour.
