Tour at 9:00

Report from Hafsúlan: we departed from Hafnarfjörður and went west. The wind came from that direction so the first part of the tour was not easy but we kept our spirits up thinking about what we might get rewarded with. Plenty of seabirds were out there. After a while we turned the boat and the sidewind hit us a little bit as we did but then it was all gentle and nice as we had the wind pushing us back towards the metropolitan area, and Reykjavik, where we had decided to end the tour rather than go back to Hafnarfjörður. It was delightful to see all the gannets on the water today, which are no doubt fueling up before their nesting season, and it was also great to see at least one puffin along with its relatives of the seabird family called Auks but sadly we did not see any cetaceans on this tour. As a result we gave every passenger a complimentary return ticket so that they can come again with us whale-watching and then hopefully get to see what we would have liked to show them today.

Birds seen on today's tour: northern gannet, northern fulmar, black-legged kittiwake, black-backed gull, puffin, razorbill, common guillemot, black guillemot, european shag.
