Report from Elding: The afternoon tour started as the morning tour ended, overcast sky making it great conditions for spotting. Unfortunately, the further out we went we had more swells but still we were positive finding cetaceans after the morning tour. Straight we headed towards the area we left the humpback in the morning as 2 harbour porpoises popped up once close to the boat, unfortunately we were not able to spot them further. It took us some time scanning the area but suddenly we spotted a blow from the humpback whale. As it showed us clearly it's fluke, we could say for sure that it was the same individual as the first seen on the morning tour. It was a really beautiful encounter as we could stay a while with the animal and it even approached us quite close! At the end of the tour we decided to get closer to Engey, one of the bird nesting islands close to Reykjavik to spot some birds. We were able to spot lots of different species, looking forward to our Puffin Tours to come!

Report from Elding: The wind picked up compare to previous days, bringing us some refreshing cold air from the north. Nonetheless, sea conditions were great with smooth waves and huge visibility. After sailing for a while, we spotted a blow in the distance. Once we got closer, we discovered a beautiful humpback whale. We followed her for a bit but we lost the track until we spotted again another blow in the area. For our surprise, we found out a second humpback whale easily identified by her different pattern in the fluke. After filling our hearths with humpies, we headed back and we sailed along Engey, one of the main breeding islands in front of Reykjavik for the Atlantic puffin, so we enjoyed a bit of birdwatching. It was quite a complete day.
