    CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 0900

Report from Eldey: We set off into the bay on another calm, sunny day. Again, it didn't take too long to find the animals we desired. As we turned to our left because spotted some dorsal fins a minke whale appeared from nowhere just metres from our front. We saw this surface really well a few times before it vanished. As it disappeared those dorsal fins now produced some splashes as they got closer to us. They were from a pod of 15-20 very spaced out white beaked dolphins. We got to see these dolphins all around our boat which was very cool. We then left these guys alone and not too much later a lone dolphin appeared and was bow riding! A bit further along we were then greeted by another 2 pods of dolphins. Both had 4-6 individuals.  The first of these pods was amazing. They came so close and one individual wouldn't stop jumping. Amazing! On our way back there was another brief sighting of a minke whale too!

    CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: on a sunny afternoon we sailed out ready to spot any sign of life in the bay of Faxafloi. The wind was very weak, and we could enjoy the sun warming us up, while we sailed in a very calm and flat sea. We covered many areas, until we got to one where we spotted a blow, the contrast very clear with the sunlight. It was a minke whale, that popped up a couple of times in the distance, but by the time we got closer to it, it completely disappeared. We waited a few more minutes until we decided to explore other areas, with our eyes sharp to see if we could find anything else. Unfortunately, the bay was extremely calm this afternoon, and we were running out of time. So, closer to Reykjavik, we decided to give out complimentary tickets to the passengers have another chance of coming back and trying to see our favorite animals in another opportunity. Nevertheless, it was a calm and warm afternoon, a great weather in the middle of this cold fall.
