Tour at 13:00: RUNNING and sailing from Hafnarfjörður

Report from Eldey: Again we sailed out from the harbour that is not so usual to us. We had the same weather conditions as in the morning; strong wind and plenty of waves. Unfortunately not plenty of whales. Just as we left the harbour we saw 2-3 harbour porpoises. During the tour we saw a few beautiful northern gannets and amazing rainbows. Even though it was enjoyable to dance on the waves and experience the cold wind, we gave out complimentary tickets to our guests to come again and try their luck for free.

Tour at 9:00: RUNNING and sailing from Hafnarfjörður

Report from Eldey: The wind from south west was a bit strong this morning, whereof we decided to leave from Hafnarfjörður. The waves were pretty small and therefore the tour was a smooth one. As we sailed along the Reykjaness peninsula, a short hail shower passed through followed by a beautiful rainbow. During the tour we saw some harbour porpoises popping up once in a while, but really difficult to spot, as always with this elusive animals. After some time we spotted a big minke whale which surfaced all of a sudden quite close to our boat. As we turned to have a better look, the animal had different ideas about how to spend the day and unfortunately we did not see it again and also had no other sightings on this tour. As we know Faxafloi has more to offer, we gave all our passengers the opportunity to come back on one of our tours by providing them with complimentary tickets. Better luck next time!
