Tour at 20:30

We began sailing out to the puffin island Akurey where we could see the puffins flying around the boat and paddling on the sea. We then headed out to look for the whales and the sea was much more rough than we had expected. We sailed out quite far and encountered a small group of Harbour Porpoises which we spotted a few times before they disappeared. We searched around a big area but weren't able to spot the bigger whales this evening. Our passengers had fun riding the waves on our small boat Elding II, and were given a complimentary ticket so they can hopefully join us again :)

Tour at 17:00

We started the tour in Puffin Island Akurey and there were not as many puffins there as this morning. Still  a few, as always. Then we headed out to Faxaflói and soon found a Minke Whale! We saw it surfacing a few times but decided to leave it shortly afterwards to search for something else a little further out. We had to search for quite a long time before we found Harbour Porpoises. They came up in front of us, quite close, but then they disappeared. After a little while some passengers spotted some White Beaked Dolphins coming up in the waves that the boat made. Then we started seeing the Minke Whales and we could see very many of them during the rest of the tour. We had them very close at times and they were great to watch, once two of them coming up at the same time. Very nice. On the way back we then actually had to stop twice close to the harbour to take a look at more Minke Whales. A very good tour!

Tour at 14:00

This trip we headed straight out into Faxaflói bay. We didn't have to sail very far until we started spotting the first Minke Whales. We then headed further out after watching the first two Minke Whales for a while and soon we spotted another 3 and two of them surfaced very close to the boat. We then ended the tour with a stop in Akurey to see the Puffins.

Tour at 13:00

We sailed straight out to Faxaflói and very, very close to the harbour, right next to Akurey, we found a Minke Whale! We could follow it for quite some time and it was great to watch, coming up really calmly. After watching it for a while we headed further out and soon found another Minke Whale and this one was excellent to watch, coming up really close to us so we could see the blowholes and hear the blow very clearly. A beautiful whale! We also saw some Harbour Porpoises and could see them close to us as well. On the way home we stopped by the Puffin Island Lundey and could see some puffins flying around. A great tour!

Tour at 10:00

We headed straight to Akurey this morning before heading out. There were many Puffins on the island this morning both around the island and flying above it. We then headed out in search for the whales. When searching we first spotted briefly some Harbour Porpoises but they were very quick to leave the area and one Minke Whale that surfaced once very close to the boat and then never again. Later during the tour we then found a small pod of calm White-beaked Dolphins and then finally towards the end we got to an area where we found about 4-5 Minke Whales.

Tour at 09:00

We headed out in very calm weather and started the tour by visiting Akurey the Puffin Island. There were extremely many puffins on the island this morning, both flying around and on the ocean. A very beautiful beginning of the tour. Then we headed out to Faxaflói and soon found some Minke Whales. They were a little difficult to follow but in the end there had been around 4-5 different individuals coming up all around the boat. They were however always a little bit far away from us so we couldn't really see them up close. That's just how it is sometimes. Then we sailed around for a long time without finding anything before heading back to the harbour.
