 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: It was a bit of a roller coaster ride in the bay, super fun for some but not so much for others. We of course do our very best to try and minimise seasickness by offering our passengers sea sickness tablets and helpful tips but sometimes the green monster comes out. There as been a lot of storms out at sea lately causing these swells. The weather was warmer than it had been lately and the clouds have come in, we could still see alot of the landscape around Faxaflói though. No life (no whales, dolphins or porpoises) and strangely not many birds either. The bay was fishless today, we can only hope it improves tomorrow and we can once again see our lovely passanges join us on another free complimentary tour.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: Unfortunately, regardless of the crew greatest efforts, it was not possible to see any whales or dolphins during the present tour. Working with wildlife always implies some unpredictability. Though tours like this do not happen often, on some days our whales and dolphins can be quite illusive or might simply leave the area for a while as they are chasing their prey somewhere else. Regardless of the fact that this goes beyond our control, as we believe we are able to provide a greater experience, we offered all our passengers complimentary tickets so that they can all comeback again for free on another whale watching ride for free.

- Inês Cunha

Birds seen on todays tours include; Eider ducks, long-tailed duck, black-headed gulls, black-legged kittiwakes, herring gulls, gloucous gulls, cormorants, shags, sooty shearwater.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There can always be movement on the bay, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
