Tour at 17:00

Despite the fact that no matter which way we turned the rain was hitting our face with quite a lot of force it was actually quite a good tour. First we saw a large pod of Harbour Porpoises which were about 20-30 meters away and didn't want to come closer before disappearing but they surfaced many times before hand. Then it was a Minke Whale which our lovely barman spotted, it surfaced many times also and less than 20 meters from the boat on the odd occasion. If that wasn't enough we had a small pod of White-beaked Dolphins which looked to be having a lot of fun playing in the wakes our boat was making. Then on our way back to the harbour everyone had to make there way back outside out of the dry and warm saloon for another Minke Whale. When you include the seabirds as well (Gannets, Razorbills, Skuas, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Gulls and Manx Shearwaters) It was an Excellent Tour, WHOO HOO!!

Still a bit of wind but quite good weather in the bay this afternoon. We headed out and soon found our first cetaceans: a pod of playful Harbour Porpoises just 5 metres of our bow! Afterwards, it wasn't long until we met a pod of white-beaked dolphins. Some of them were jumping which was an amazing sight. Finally, we met a Minke whale which surfaced quite close but then dove away. But the next Minke we saw was amazing, surfacing quite close until our time ran out and we returned to the harbour with big smiles just in time before it started to drizzle.

Tour at 09:00

We had to look for some time this morning to find a Minke whale. At the beginning we encountered some Harbour Porpoises which was really nice! Afterwards, we searched the whale-watching area for half an hour until finally we found it: a large Minke which was surface-feeding. It didn't stay for a long time and disappeared after several surfacing. The next Minke we found was also elusive but we still got some good looks. An all right tour.
