Today we will be operating on Þruma RIB for our 10:00  and 14:00 Premium Whale tour and on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00  Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00

Report from Eldey: On this beautiful Halloween morning we sailed into a cold Faxafloi. The sun started coming up as we went and part of the sky was pink. What a start to the day. After some sailing around we spotted a blow and went to investigate. 'Twas a humpback whale! This one started a little bit elusive and was probably feeding as it changed direction a fair bit. After a while it seemed to settle and actually came up extremely close to our ship. We managed to have a few good looks at it and multiple fluke dives! We eventually made a move as we stayed with this individual for quite some time and saw more vessels approaching. On the way back we saw spotted two more humpbacks, both showing their fluke and waving us goodbye.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: This afternoon we sailed out into Faxafloi once more, the wind had picked up a little bit. We were very eager to see what nature had in store for us. It was glorious sunshine and not even forty minutes out, a humpback whale appeared next to us! Normally we can see them from a distance, especially with the low sun the blows are very clear and this one felt like it came out of nowhere! We stayed with this humpback for a bit, only seeing its fluke twice. We have temporarily named Spooky - for halloween, but also as it often appears and changes direction. We then moved further into the bay and quickly found another humpback whale, this one was much more active and even did two peduncle throws! This one would show us its fluke each time it went for a deep dive. We then moved on once more, and spotted a large pod of 12 white beaked dolphins. They were very active swimming around the bay and even jumping completely out the water! It was a great tour, with sunkissed and happy faces. Happy Halloween!
