Tour at 13:00

BLUE WHALES!!! I don't have a word for this tour because it was so amazing but I will try. We headed out from Grindavík this time because the weather was not so good in Faxaflói. Soon we spotted some harbour porpoises, the smallest cetaceans around Iceland and they were fast swimming. Further out we found a small group of white-beaked dolphins but we didn't stop for them because we saw a huge blow in the distance. When we got closer we saw it was a BIG whale. In the beginning we were not sure what kind of whale it was but when we saw the fin we found out it was a BLUE WHALE. And what a whale. It surfaced many times very close to our boat, about 10 meters and it was surface feeding the whole time, coming up regularly to breathe and feed. It was about 28 meters at least and an absolutely beautiful blue whale and we spent a long time around it. But this was not all!. Further away we saw another big blow and when we got closer we found out it was another Blue whale. WHAT A TOUR. Two Blue whales in the same area. The second blue whale was fast swimming and it was difficult to get close to it but it showed its tail one time. So in one tour we found the smallest and the biggest whale around Iceland. I think we will never forget this tour and it is one of the Best tours ever!!!
