Status Tour 9:00 and 13:00: RUNNING FROM ANOTHER HARBOUR

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Our afternoon trip departured from Keflavik too, an ideal spot located in the tip of Reykjaness peninsula. The day was cold and cloudy so we got ready with our warm clothes to find the wanders of Faxafloi in its southernmost point. We sailed all along the coast and we witnessed an incredible view from the cloiffs of this peninsula, an unbelievable and massive lava formation rose from the ocean and fed by volcano´s activity. We were looking for wildlife during the whole tour and the only companion that we were able to see was a friendly black-legged kittiwake which travelled with us for a while. Unfortunately, even though we did our best, cetaceans weren´t found in the area. In consequence, we offered complimentary tickets to our passengers. Next time we will be luckier!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: Due to the storms in recent days, departing from Reykjavik was not an option today as conditions were unsuitable. Therefore, we sailed from Keflavik in order to shelter from the swell and the wind. Lately, wildlife had been seen in close proximity to land, meaning we had a thorough scan of the area along the shoreline. Although we gave our best efforts, we were unable to find the cetaceans that had been occupying region.

Bird species seen on today's tour include: northern gannet, northern fulmar, common guillemot, kittiwake, great cormorant, eider duck

We will be sailing out from KEFLAVÍK today at 9:00 and 13:00 due to unfavourable conditions

After the tour we will return to Reykjavík by bus again, or the boat will sail to Reykjavík. This will result in a longer tour, or between 4-5 hrs. and could impact COMBO tours. Guests that are unable to join the tour because of it's length should contact their travel planner immediately to arrange for a different activity or check for other options provided by them.
