Report from Elding: Today the wind can't make up it's mind wether it wants to be strong or mild. Leaving the harbour, wind had picked up a lot and waves were growing accordingly, making our boat dance a bit of rock 'n' roll. But during the first part of the tour, the wind calmed down and finally, as we had the waves pushing us, we had a very smooth ride. There were numerous seabirds around us and we were optimistic to redeem ourselves after our previous tour. With high hopes we stayed searching with optimistic minds until the very last minutes. Just before we reached the harbour did we give up our search, sadly unsuccessfully, and handed out complimentary tickets to all our passengers.

Report from Elding: The sun woke up for this tour and helped keep our faces warm with the winds still blowing quite strongly. Luckily for us though, this wind lessened noticeably within the first hour and it was pleasant to stay outside and enjoy the amazing scenery. We sailed to Akraness where we had sighted both dolphins and a humpback whale on our morning tour, but were without luck. Of course it is never sure that these cetaceans will stay in one place an entire day, as they are free living and wild, roaming around and moving to where ever their prey moves. Thus we searched as much of the bay as we possibly could within our 3 hour tour, even returning a bit late as we spotted a blow twice and waited for the creator of this blow to show itself for quite some time. Unfortunately whoever was causing the blow stayed hidden underneath the water and our tour, surprisingly, ended with us handing out complimentary tickets to all our passengers.

Report from Elding: The forecast for Icelandic weather can't always be trusted, as we felt during this tour. It was meant to be sunny and with only a slight wind, but we had a cloud covered sky and true Icelandic wind, strong and cold. Nonetheless our passengers braved these conditions and were amazing team players in spotting for whales. With many white caps it surely was a challenge, but once we had reached the city of Akraness, we spotted the blow of a humpback whale. And as if to draw the attention towards them, there was also a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins including one juvenile that was just having the time of it's life, jumping over the waves. After a few minutes with them we focused on getting a better look at the humpback which required a lot of patience and trials. But finally the whale surfaced close to our boat and lifted it's tail for us elegantly. Moving on we got another quick glimpse of 2 white-beaked dolphins that were traveling very quickly and enjoyed watching the landscapes surrounding us with the winds in our backs.
