Report from Eldey: With slightly stronger winds we had a little bit more of a wavy ride, but the visibility was still more than wonderful for us this afternoon. We sailed out without any restriction of course due to weather. We took the path we had taken this morning, but the many dolphins we had found then were not there anymore. Of course they are wildlife and their main interest is following their prey. Thus, if the fish move, the dolphins will follow. So we continued searching in other areas instead. Despite all our crews best efforts and us covering as much area as possible, our tour remained without a sighting. Thus we handed out complimentary tickets to everyone, encouraging them to return on another trip for free to witness the beautiful wildlife we have to offer.

Report from Eldey: The morning was off to a good start in amazingly beautiful morning sun and flat seas. Already after 10 minutes of sailing, we spotted splashes in the distance. A very unusual but extremely promising start for the tour ! We kept course towards the splashes and once we reached the area, we were surrounded by 10-12 white-beaked dolphins. There were also very small, young individuals in the pod and most surprisingly a few harbour porpoises in the middle of the pod of dolphins! Something I have never seen before. As there were manz calves in the pod, we left them after just under 30 minutes to ensure their well-being and resting, but in no time we spotted a second pod of 5-6 white beaked dolphins that even started bow-riding our boat. Later on we spotted a couple of more dolphins, probably belonging to one of the pods encountered before. As we were heading back to Reykjavik, we saw a glimpse of a minke whale. It was quite elusive, diving for a long time and we only saw it re-surface once. We respected the animal as it was clearly not in the mood for showing itself to us, so we didn't try to follow it and simply sailed on. All in all a very good tour with beautiful weather and sooo many dolphins !
