Tour 17:00
We had very nice weather for this late afetrnoon tour. Almost no wind, very soft light conditions and almost no other boats out at sea. Just us and the whales. We had in fact a very good chance today to approach several Minke whales. We had four main sightings, with 3 different individuals all marked, we think one at least might be a whale we know from 2007.

we soon spotted again many minke whales. They were everywhere, close and far away, one actually came very close up to breath, maybe just 30 meters away from the boat. And then, we couldn't believe, we saw one minke whale breaching in the distance, at least five times!!! This is very rare and of course we were very excited! Later we saw a blow of a humpback and we saw it breaching, too, but we never could get close to it, it was fast swimming, surely travelling!

We had a fantastic morning out in the bay! We saw all four species which are possible to see in Faxaflói-bay First we had some harbour porpoises around the boat1 Then we found several minke whales. They were all feeding there together with many birds. Suddenly we spotted a blow of a humpback whale and dolphins there, too. We very seldom see these three species at the same area, there must have been a lot of food there! We were at least very busy during the tour :-)
