Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: Once again we sailed from Hafnafjörður getting shelter from the Reykjanes peninsula. The weather was constantly changing from light rain to bright sunshine. I don´t think there was a point in our tour when we couldn´t at least see part of a rainbow, There was even a minke whale at the end of one of the rainbows at one point during our tour. Surfaced high out of the water with bit of a splash, yelling out ´here I am, some of us saw it another 3-4 times but then it submerged in the watery depths and was not seen again. We got word from another whale watching vessel about a couple of minkes they saw so we headed to that area alas the minkes seemed to have moved on as they were not seen after some extensive searching. We hoped to show our passengers more but this is nature, instead we offered our passengers a complimentary tour to again and try their luck once more.

Report from Hafsúlan: We started our journey with the bus to Hafnarfjörður and there we took the boat out to Faxaflói. First we sailed along the Reykjanes Penisula with a nice view at Mount Keilir and at the cliffs near Keflavík named Holmsberg. We observed some northern gannets, some of them diving like torpedoes and plenty of rainbows. We could enjoy the sunshine more or less through the whole tour only for a short time it went behind some clouds but even then we saw the golden glare on the water. For five minutes we had a bit of rain but the Icelandic saying "if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes it will change anyway" came true. As our captain navigated in a way where he was considering the strong wind and the swell it felt surprisingly smooth out there and people enjoyed the time out at sea, even no cetacean showed up. Not a fin for a second, that's why we are looking forward to meet all who where on board again to get a new chance and hopefully good cetacean sightings next time. After this boat ride the bus waited in Hafnarfjörður to get everybody back to Reykjavík.
