Report from Eldey: "Viking Level I: granted". That´s the best way to describe our experience today. We faced strong winds and snowfall during the whole trip. However, we had serious candidates to become vikings as our passengers resisted the entire trip in the upper deck. We sailed towards the south of Faxafloi in our pursue for cetaceans. We could only find 2 shy harbour porpoises but birdlife was extremely rewarding as we could spot an elusive king eider among one of the flocks of eider ducks, a delicatessen for bird lovers. Nonetheless, cetaceans were our main reason to be out there and since we couldn´t find them, we offered complimentary tickets to our passengers.

Report from Eldey: Surprisingly despite windy weather sea was calm, and as long as wind was blowing in our back we had great sailing and spotting conditions. Between islands outside of Reykjavik like always there were plenty sea birds, including more rare sighting of king eider duck. As we were passing close to lighthouse Grotta we noticed that we are not alone as pod of  8 white-beaked dolphins chose that place to rest. First they weren't active, just going for long dives but soon they realized that we are trying to take look at them so they came closer by to our boat. It was pod made mostly by mothers with calves so when they become elusive we left them alone. Later on we search in the middle of the bay where last time we were lucky with whales but nothing was there today. On our way back two more white-beaked dolphins came by, adult in company of a very curious calf.  It's good to see that our dolphins are doing so well, having many babies recently.
