Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: Finally we were able to sail back out in the bay of Faxaflói after many stormy days. We were all super excited to be back out on the water. In the harbour the sea was like a mirror but further ofshore away from the shelter the swell was still persistant and caused some movement. We tried to keep the boat as comfortable as possible but it did cause a couple of green faces. Spirits were lifted when a small pod of 3 white-beaked dolphins were spotted, they were unfortunatly shy and vanished quite quickily. Another pod of at least 7 individuals were encountered a little later and they were fascinating to watch. They were first spotted amongst a small flock of birds but then soon moved around leisurly in a very close knit concentration and surfaced frequently, by the subtle surface behaviours we saw, we believed them to be mating by the way they were interacting with each other. They did this for a long time then they started to scatter and began interacting with our boat and leaping in the distance. A very nice social pod of white-beaked dolphins to end our tour with.
