Tour at 13:00

The sun was shining but the wind had speeded up a bit when we sailed out this afternoon. When we came to the area were we found the whales earlier this morning we saw there were lots of birds feeding. Fulmars, kittiwakes, gulls, guillemots and diving gannets and also many minke whales. Some of them came very close to the boat others were surfacing further away. A group of harbour porpoises crossed our path and were very nice but the last minke whale was the best. It surfaced just 40-50 meters from our boat 6-7 times and very slowly. So all together a brilliant tour

Tour at 09:00

The weather was perfect for whale watching this morning when we sailed out to Faxaflói bay. And luck was with us. We were able to spot a very big group of harbour porpoises, some very shy and some of them came very close to our boat. We also found at least 5-7 minke whales, some of them only surfaced one time before going for a deep dive so it was difficult to follow them. Then we spotted a big blow form a humpback whale but it only surfaced two times before disappearing. So three species this morning. Very nice tour.
