Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We had strong winds from southeast and swells out in the bay. The boat was rocking a lot causing some green faces onboard. The ones not suffering from seasickness enjoyed the ride in the swells and the overalls kept us dry from the rain. We search for a long time and at one point a heavy rain front passed by, very cool to feel the power of the sea and the weather from a boat. The wildlife was difficult to observe today, we spotted two blows during the tour but we couldn't see the animal making the blows. We also had at one point a jumping whale/dolphins far away behind us but when we got there nothing could be seen in the high swells. During the tour 3 pods of harbour porpoises passed quickly by, but only a hand full of us managed to get a look at them. Back in harbour we gave out complimentary tickets so the passengers can come back on another whale watching tour with us.

- Marcus Bergström

Bird species seen on todays tour include: northern fulmar, "blue fulmar", northern gannet, kittiwake, greater black-backed gull, lesser black-backed gull, great skua, grayleg goose, puffin and eider duck.

Status: RUNNING at 09:00

We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik on a rather cold day. The wind is coming from the west and there will be movement on the boat due to swells.
