Tour at 17:00

Report from Hafsúlan: On our last trip of the day, we only had two dozen passengers on board. The passengers seemed to enjoy having this big boat to themselves and were more likely to ask questions due to the comfortable atmosphere. After searching and traveling for a bit a minke whale was spotted by the other whale watching boat and we headed straight for it. Unfortunately it was only seen once 450 m in front of the boat. After this animal we had no more encounters. The trip was still enjoyable for those who liked the "rollercoaster ride". Much interest was shown towards the high diversity of birds seen on the tour and information given out, especially the high numbers of puffins around the boat. On our way back to the harbour we had a beautiful picture-worth view at the back of the boat, the sun was finally able to shine through the clouds. Since we had no close encounters with cetaceans we offered our passengers complimentary tickets valid for 2 years.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: After the short encounters with the animals in the morning we were hopeful to find some cetaceans in a "whale watching mood" in the afternoon.Traveling straight to a very popular area it didn´t take long until we spotted a minke whale. This individual seemed to be feeding on the fish we also saw on our ""fish-finder"" and was very unpredictable regarding the next surfacing location. We enjoyed watching this animal for nearly 45 minutes until we had to head back to the harbour. On the way to Reykjavik we spotted another whale traveling out and saw a blow 400m away. But unfortunately the animal didn't show itself again. We had a great view of the town when entering the harbour.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: This morning we went out from the Reykjavik harbour in search of cetaceans. We started traveling west to the location where we had several minke whale encounters the day before. On our way we had a quick look at a harbour porpoise traveling towards land. But unfortunately it was not spotted again, this is why we kept going we kept going. During the rest of the tour we saw 1-2 minke whales. Since our encounters were very short, only one surface period per animal and most of our passengers didn't see these we offered them complimentary tickets valid for 2 years.
