We are sailing out from the Old Harbour in Reykjavik. There is little to no wind on this beautiful snowy day but there could be some swells out on Faxabay and then movement on the boat.

Tour at 13:00

Report from Eldey: This day and this tour started beautifully, with weak winds and actual SNOW ! Decent, fluffy snow, covering everything with powdered sugar ! After waiting all December for this it was truly a delight to finally witness it, and even if it was cold, there was not much wind to bite our bone so overall it was a splendid beginning. The sea conditions were also promising, with good visibility at first. It was an easy sailing, but there was a treacherous swell that we did not feel coming. It was long and soft sneaky swell, so it took its toll among us without being noticed first. But as soon as we had the waves in our back, the trip got calmer. Unfortunately, as we patiently searched through the bay, the wind got stronger, sky got darker and we lost visibility, and in the end no whales were spotted. We made sure to keep our gloves while handing over the usual complimentary tickets as it was freezing cold, and we hope everyone can come back enjoy the snow and hopefully better sea conditions !
