Tour at 17:00

Sailed out on this tour to mirror calm seas and great cetaceans. We only saw one Minke Whale but what a Minke it was. Surfaced many times and on occasion 15-20 meters from our boat. We also came across a couple of pods of Harbour Porpoises which where surfacing 10 meters from us and the last pod must of been 5-8 animals large. Diving Gannets, great cetaceans and perfect weather conditions made this a fantastic tour!!

Tour at 13:00

We got a very nice tour this afternoon. The weather was great, calm sea, no wind and sunny. In one area quite far out we found at least 3-5 minke whales and diving gannets. The whales were great, surfacing many times and very close, 10-20 meters so all our passengers could have a good look at them. Fantastic tour.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafúlan: With three out of four species sighted, on most days this would have been an amazing tour, but today the animals were somewhat shy. The first cetaceans to cross our path were a pod of white-beaked dolphins! They were however constantly diving away so after some good sightings we had to let them go. After that, we headed out to an area full of big Gannets diving into the water- a very impressive sight. Nearby, we encountered a Minke whale which surfaced with a huge blow but then dove away. The closest sighting was a pod of Harbour porpoises right after that, them staying with us for a while, some 5-10 metres away. Despite the rather strong wind a really pleasant weather with beautiful sunshine and some nice sightings!

Report from Elding: We sailed out on calm seas which got a bit rougher further out into the bay, blue skies and great visibility. It took us a while before we saw our first cetacean and it was a small pod of Harbour Porpoises which disappeared as soon as they appeared but I think most the passengers got a good look. Then it was a very fast travelling Minke Whale that only surfaced once and then two White-beaked Dolphins which also seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere or catch their prey. We saw another Minke which again surfaced only twice before going for a long dive. A very difficult tour but great to see three species. The tour was rewarded at the end by another small pod of Harbour Porpoises that surfaced less than 10 meters from us and it was a mother with her calf and a couple of others. Really nice ending.
