Report from Elding: We had our hopes high this afternoon after a very nice morning tour. However we did not find any whales this time even though we searched in a very large area. We saw blow from three different whales but nothing more than that. We gave our passengers complimentary tickets and we hope that the whales will come soon.

Tour at 13:00Report from Hafsúlan: The weather had gotten a little bit better since this morning and we headed out again from Hafnarfjörður. The ocean was a bit rough and the trip was quite an adventure in the beginning. We saw a lot of bird life and the Arctic Terns and Gulls were feeding all around us but we didn't spot any whales unfortunatly. As we sailed closer to Reykjavík the ocean got calmer and the sun started shining, but still no whales. We ended the trip in Akurey, one of the Puffin Islands and watched them for a while. In the end it was the diversity of sea birds that we enjoyed and hopefully the whales will be back tomorrow.- Freydís Ósk Hjörvarsdóttir

Tour at 10:00

Report from Elding: Just like the 9 o'clock tour we departed from Hafnarfjörður in a grey and windy weather. Very soon in our tour we spotted a minke whale. This whale only surfaced once and was fast swimming. After a while waiting we headed further out and kept on searching. After a long time things sure changed for us, we had diving gannets around us among other sea birds feeding and few minke whales actively feeding around the birds. We saw 2-3 individuals in that area and some of them showed us very interesting feeding behaviour as lunge feeding. A very nice tour this morning.

Tour at 09:00

Report from Hafsúlan: This morning, the weather conditions around Reykjavik were quite rough and so we decided to start from another harbour in Hafnarfjörður, since we were expecting the sea to be more sheltered there. Indeed, it was windy, but the swell was relatively moderate. We saw a lot of bird life on this tour including among others Manx Shearwaters, Atlantic Puffins, Razorbills and Northern Gannets - impressive seabirds with almost two meters of wing span. Sadly, we were not able to find any whales this morning, but wildlife is unpredictable and we have to accept what mother nature gives us.- Hendrik Schultz

Birds seen on todays tours include: Fulmar, Nothern Gannet, Manx Shearwaters, Atlantic Puffin, Artctic Tern, Kittiwakes, Great Northern diver, Lesser black-backed Gull, Greater black-backed Gull, Razorbill, Common Guillemot, Eider-Ducks & Glacous Gull
