Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey and Hafsulan: Following the closer sightings to land the last few days we were hopeful of finding another whale quickly. We set off on our two boats as we had so many passengers. This would hopefully help us with more boats and more eyes looking for marine wildlife. We sailed around in the cold wind whilst looking at the beautiful snowy landscape. After a while we finally spotted a blow near Mount Esja. We had found another humpback whale close to land. We got to see some amazing behaviour from this individual whilst it was likely feeding. At first it would surface a few times before showing its fluke. Then about half way through the sighting it produced a couple of tail slaps and even a small pec slap! Following this the whale swam very close to Hafsulan first and then Elding giving us all a great view to appreciate the size of this animal. Later in the tour Hafsulan got to see a pod of harbour porpoises. This is an elusive species that sometimes is hard to spot more than once. By the time Elding got to this area they were nowhere to be seen. This was an amazing tour for both ships getting to see a fantastic humpback whale sighting.
