 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: With a bit less rain, we sailed out again this afternoon to search for whales and dolphins here in Faxabay. The waves were still relentless but for many of us fun and part of the adventure at sea. We had to show a lot of patience and resilience today, as animals were just not showing themselves. Two hours into our tour, however, we encountered a very fun pod of at least 8 white-beaked dolphins. They were in front and behind us, dove underneath the boat, came to bow-ride and surfed the waves. It was  a wonderful experience and we could stay with them for half a hour until it was time to return to Reykjavik. Again nature showed us to never give up. A very nice tour afterall!

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: A gray morning here in Reykjavik but with only little wind and the rain being much less than the forecast made us believe, it was still a nice day for whale watching. We began to search around the area of Kollafjöður and then headed further out to the north where we spotted something suddenly pop out of the water for just a second. Unsure of what it was, we slowed down and waited. It soon showed itself again and turned out to be an individual dolphin. This is something highly unusual so we followed it, hoping it would lead us to the rest of the pod. Sure enough, our experience was right and we encountered a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins! They seemed to be chasing after fish, as their movements were very quick and random. Still we stayed with them nearly half an hour until they decided to move elsewhere. We always respect this and did not chase after them. Continuing searching through the bay we did not have further encounters. As this is not up to our standards, we handed out complimentary tickets to come on another tour within the following 2 years time.
