Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 09:00 and 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: The sun is rising later and later and today we got a majestic sunrise that we sailed out into. The sea was calm and glassy and the sun was reflecting so beautifully on it. Not long after leaving the harbour we saw 3 harbour porpoises, which is always a treat. They quickly continued on and so did we. After some more sailing we saw a minke whale. As the water was so calm you could see them very clearly and closely too. There were probably 3 as some we saw further out. Then suddenly a white beaked dolphin popped up in the mix as well. It seemed we found a good spot to watch the sunrise further. We tried to get a closer look at the dolphin but it was occupied with its breakfast, so we decided to head on further and see what else was out there. As we did we saw a blow in the distance! It was Pep the humpback whale. What a lovely surprise, she came fairly close and was very relaxed. We were so distracted we forgot the time so quickly headed back to harbour!

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: Like this morning it was still calm and beautiful but perhaps a little colder. Near to land on the ay offshore we encountered two pods of cute harbour porpoises, at least 5-7 in the first group and maybe 3-4 in the second. As always they were busy chasing fish and difficult to follow so we didn’t stop but saw very well on the way out. After another 30mins we started to see minke whales popping up, at least 6-8 scattered during the tour. Finally surfacing slow enough for us to actually photograph them, which was impossible yesterday. We also saw white-beaked dolphins (about 20 in total throughout the tour) which were little more difficult to capture until the end of the tour when we found a pod of about 6-8 scattered individuals interacting with a minke whale, either playing together or annoying it. It was fun to watch with way. We sailed home with nice, fun music and warm hot drink.
