 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 13:00

Report from Eldey: A very windy day still in Faxafloi. But of course as this morning anyone who felt a bit chilly could simply put on one of the overalls that we provide our passengers on board. We began our search as always with high motivation and searched from minute number one. Even after the first 2 hours had passed we did not lose hope as it is not unusual for us to have a sighting on our way back. Sadly, also this tour was without sightings, confirming our assumption that maybe today the food had moved further out than our searching area incorporates.  As we were back in the harbour, all passengers were offered to return for another trip using our complimenatry tickets which we handed out.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE  | 09:00

Report from Eldey: What a windy morning, it definitely helped to wake us all up. But it made the tour even more of a real Icelandic experience. Going even past Akraness, more than 10 nautical miles, we searched a huge area of the bay today. There was a lot of bird life around and it seemed like there must have been quite some fish. But even with wind and waves calming down during the tour, leading to a very good visibility, we remained unsuccessful with sightings. Naturally, everyone was offered a complimentary ticket to join us on another tour free of charge for a second try to get lucky with mother nature and witness the marine mammals and wildlife of Faxaflói.

- Sabrina Voswinkel

Birds seen today: eider duck, cormorant, kittiwake, black-headed gull, northern gannet.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. If your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
